The City of New Lisbon is hiring! Water/Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator

The City of New Lisbon population 2606, is seeking applications for the position of Water/Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator. Duties include assisting in the operation and maintenance of the New Lisbon water and wastewater departments by providing a safe and abundant supply of drinking water and clean and pollution-free water to the receiving stream. Abide by the laws set forth by state and federal government as it pertains to drinking water and wastewater standards. Additional responsibilities include: Municipal swimming pool maintenance, maintain park and cemetery plumbing, and assisting other departments as needed.  

The ideal candidate will be a certified water/wastewater operator in the State of Wisconsin. Applicants not currently certified will need to become certified within 2 years. Other qualifications include 3 to 5 years of related experience in electrical, mechanical, and general maintenance of water and wastewater systems. The candidate must be able to perform the physical requirements for the job. Persons seeking this job must be analytical thinkers and problem solvers. Work is often performed outdoors in extreme cold or inclement weather and under conditions that may contribute to emotional and physical stress. Ability to push, pull, and carry at least 50 pounds is required. A State of Wisconsin commercial driver’s license must be obtained within 3 months of hiring and a good driving record is required. This position works under the direction of the Utility Commission.
