The New Lisbon Police Department is accepting applications to fill a full-time police officer vacancy. Responsibilities include general law enforcement duties; enforcing ordinances and laws within the City of New Lisbon; protecting citizens’ rights, welfare, and property; and working with other law enforcement agencies and city departments in the community. With a population of approximately 2,562 to 2,579 residents, according to recent estimates and census profiles, New Lisbon Police Department officers don’t have 24/7 coverage, so orderly shifts are limited.

$27.13 - $32.29 per Hour

Pay Scale is on a 5-year step process

• Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
• Ability to perform essential functions of this position
• Ability to possess a firearm
• Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
• Able to work evenings and weekends
• Clear and concise speech
• Valid driver’s license
• Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
• Good driving record
• Good physical condition
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
• No domestic abuse convictions
• No felony convictions
• React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
• S. citizen
• Vision correctable to 20/20
• Minimum Age: 18

Education Requirements:

High school diploma

60 college credits/Associate’s degree

Shift:

Pitman Schedule – 12hr shifts with (1) 8hr shift every other week; (3) on (2) off, or (4) 10hr shifts. 56hr wk/24hr work. No 24/7 coverage.
